Adam Borecki was raised in southern Oregon in a family with a strong musical background. His father plays percussion and his mother is a church organist with a Doctoral degree in Worship Studies. After a solid foundation of music in the Lutheran church, Adam became more involved in the arts as his education progressed. He performed in musical theatre every year from the sixth grade to the twelfth, in plays such as Peter Pan, Annie, Crazy for You, The Music Man, Seussical, and lead roles in Guys and Dolls as well as Thoroughly Modern Millie.
In high school, Adam gave back to his community by playing guitar in the summer program, Vacation Bible School. He also worked as a sound technician for his church, and he began to compose preludes and offertories as incidental music during the liturgical service. Adam performed with his high school Jazz Band and choir. He composed and performed solo piano compositions for the school concerts, and he sang with the local extracurricular Rogue Valley Youth Ensemble. Adam graduated from high school with numerous awards, including "Outstanding Senior Musician", in addition to special recognition from the local Rotary and Kiwanis foundations. In the summer of 2008, Adam was accepted into the Oregon Bach Festival's Youth Choral Academy, where he performed the Bach Magnificat, conducted by Helmuth Rilling. He also performed with this group under Anton Armstrong in the opening of the Olympic trials in Eugene, as well as onstage during a Garrison Keillor concert.
Adam has studied guitar since seventh grade with Jeffery Ebnother in southern Oregon, and he is now under the instruction of Jeff Cogan. He has performed in the Chapman guitarists concerts, as well as around southern California in guitar ensembles. Adam has grown an interest in exploring and expanding the realm of new music for the classical guitar. In his composition, Adam is strongly influenced by electronic music genres as well as classical chamber music. He has composed a number of solo piano pieces as well as piano duets (one piano, four hands). He has also written numerous solo and collaborative electronic dance tracks. Adam continues to expand his musical boundaries in both the art style as well as popular music style. He mixes live electronic dance music on his weekly radio show through Chapman Radio. At Chapman, Adam is also studying mathematics, utilizing his computer skills in web development, and supporting the institution though his participation in the Phonathon campaign. However, he is in constant pursuit of the fusion of electronic and chamber styles in his compositions and will continue to explore new sonorities in his music. |
